Old Celtic word ‘teuta' means partnership, family. This partnership of sound is what Teuta, established by Pawel and Marcin Steczkowscy, represents. The work of Teuta is the answer to malcontent's opinions, that folk music is not understood nowadays. Thanks to modern arrangements created during jam sessions, original lyrics and ceremonial songs of our grandfathers sound completely different. Additional asset of the group is the diversity of inspirations (jazz, alternative music, classical music, source music) which are directly transferred into instrumental part. Thanks to that in Teuta's songs one can hear both beggar's lyre and analog synthesizer. This unique combination of folk music and modern sounds blurs the boundaries between seemingly different kinds of music and brings out from what is the most important - emotions. What is interesting, during Teuta's concerts, paintings are being painted and which tell the stories told in the songs. Their creator is a distinguished painter - Rafal Zawistowski.
